A Weekend Escape

Last weekend for a little change of scenery, myself and Calum took a trip to Norfolk for two nights, camping at Sandringham. Tucked away amongst elegantly tall pine trees, this campsite is one of my favourite places and offers a peaceful retreat. I'm in love with the smell of the pine cones scattered everywhere and the birdsong each morning.

There are lots of footpaths wavering through the woods, which lead to us getting completely lost on a ten minute loop and returning over an hour later! Eventually we found human life again and stopped for coffee and flapjack at the Sandringham Estate Visitor Centre, fun fact: the Queen has a holiday home at Sandringham!

Lunch Date

Recently I visited Yumi Yumi Bakery in Loughborough for a lunch time snack with Calum. I'd never been before but was enticed in by the curious selection on the menu. It was a really tiny cafe with probably five tables inside and a couple outside, which made for a cute and intimate setting. As it's also a bakery the scenery consisted of extravagantly decorated home baked cakes and other yummy looking treats. I opted for a cinnamon and apple crepe and Calum choose a cream and syrup concoction. We both had mango bubble tea with mango juice balls which was a rather weird taste experience! Although super sickly, everything was delicious and I'll definitely be going back to try out some other crepe and bubble tea variations. A lovely little place with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere, I definitely recommend it.

YNOT Festival!

Last weekend, along with my boyfriend and two other friends, I braved my first proper festival, YNOT, in the Peak District. It's classed as a 'small festival' which means it was somewhere in between Glastonbury and local festivals I'd been to closer to home. There was a main stage and a handful of smaller venues such as tents and bars. As i'm generally scared of people this suited me much better than a huge scary festival. I apologise in advance for the quality of these photos but I didn't want to risk taking a proper camera and iPhones don't mix well with dark gigs, you get the idea though.)

The YNOT sign aka selfie central, especially popular with people named tony...
