Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne

After seeing the entire female population of the internet rave about it over the summer, I couldn't resist treating myself to the new Jo Malone scent: Wood Sage and Sea Salt. The beach is my happy place and I've always loved gulping in the sea air, remembering a happy childhood spent on the sand. The 'sea salt' part caught my attention as this perfume seemed much more suited to me than the usual florals.

I'm rather terrified of moving in Jo Malone shops as I'm so clumsy and can't be trusted not to break anything delicately fancy. The lovely ladies wrapped up my new treat so beautifully that I almost couldn't bring myself to open it once I got home, it could always make a nice room decoration? In keeping with the scent, the box was tied up with rope (read: shabby chic boat in harbour, not cheap alternative to ribbon) which looked so cool!

The notes of this scent are more fresh British seaside than idyllic Hawaiian shores but that's what gives it so much character, it's a breath of sea air! Complimenting the base note of wood sage are notes of sea salt and ambrette seeds which tone down the earthy scent to give a fresher, more wearable finish. The perfume also lasts all day on my skin treating me to little whiffs every now and then.

Although it's a complete contrast to the sweet, feminine bottles on my shelf, I am in love with the mustiness of my newest addition. At £40 for this 30ml bottle, I would definitely recommend it.

Update: It's now January 2016 and I still have half of the bottle left despite wearing it fairly regularly, a little goes such a long way with this strong scent!
