Sleek Makeup: Lips and Highlight | Review

I'll admit, I used to avoid Sleek makeup because it was positioned in the "cheap" end of the Superdrug makeup isle. The low prices made me think the quality must be bad and I associated it with the kind of makeup we'd wear in year 8. However, since going cruelty free, my drugstore options have become more limited so I thought I'd investigate the brand. I was pleasantly surprised to find Sleek has absolutely ~glowed up~. The price points are still affordable but the packaging and quality has vastly improved recently. I picked up the 'Precious Metals' Highlighting Palette for £9.99 and a mega bargain Christmas gift set - 4 mini 'Matte Me' Liquid Lipsticks for £5!

'Precious Metals' Highlighting Palette*
I've seen this highlighter floating around social media for a while now and I can immediately understand the hype. The luxurious packaging is a metallic plastic compact with a magnetic close and decent sized mirror inside. It contains 3 creams; 'platinum', 'antique bronze' and 'royal gold' as well as a powder 'renaissance gold'.

Royal gold is my perfect highlight shade a shimmery but not glittery champagne gold which looks beautiful on the cheek bones. Antique bronze is another beautiful colour but quite glittery so needs carefully blending for more of a glam look. Platinum is a silvery white perfect for the brow bone and inner corner. I was dubious about Renaissance Gold on my pale skin, but it gives a beautiful golden glow and warms my face.

Overall, I'm really impressed with this palette and would definitely recommend it. I love using my Real Techniques sponge for a more natural, blended look or a fan brush for more kapow. For £10, the quality is brilliant and the shades are very wearable for most skin tones.

'Matte Me' Ultra Smooth Matte Cream*
I absolutely can't resist mini sized products and at £1.25 each (normally £4.99 full sized), I practically dived across other women to grab one of these sets in Boots. Since I rarely use up a whole lipstick, the tiny versions (actually pretty decent sized) are perfect for me. They're so cute and the packaging is, well, sleek.

The set comes with 'birthday suit', 'old hollywood', 'velvet slipper' and 'roja red'. My favourite is birthday suit, an everyday nudey pink. I also love the berry toned old Hollywood for autumn and roja red, a classic red, perfect for the festive season. The only shade I'm unsure on is velvet slipper, which makes me look quite like an extra in Monsters Inc, but would surely look fab on dark skin tones. As you'd expect with any liquid lipsticks, they're messy to apply and definitely need a lipliner and lip brush for a neat application.

Overall I would recommend these lipsticks, you really can't go wrong for the price. My only gripe is that the product on the inside of my lips wears off when I eat. Layering makes them crumble so it's best to wipe off and start fresh, but they are DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to scrub off. Any tips here would be appreciated!

Which other Sleek products should I try?
